Partnership Criteria

Our rigorous partner school selection process evaluates independent schools on their ability to meet and maintain TCEI partnership criteria; a TCEI partner school must:

Demonstrate a steadfast commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging by actively examining and improving policies, practices, curriculum and culture to ensure all students feel valued, supported and are able to thrive
Be proximate to socioeconomically diverse neighborhoods and commit to utilizing financial aid dollars to increase access to students from socioeconomic disadvantaged backgrounds
Maintain strong institutional leadership that reflects a variety of identities, perspectives and lived experiences
Offer a robust curriculum that pairs traditional coursework and competencies with identity education and cultural competency
Have a track record of supporting student matriculation to competitive high schools and a history of alumni being admitted to competitive colleges and universities

Please email partner@tcei.org for more information on becoming a TCEI partner school.

"We work to ensure that at our school, our students, and their families, feel included and valued in our community. The breadth of the TCEI funding contributes to this feeling of inclusion. One of our student's grandmother volunteers with other parents to help to serve lunch in our cafeteria every Tuesday. She orients other volunteers to the job and is a familiar adult in the daily lives of all our students. When the family feels comfort and connection, their students learn the best."
